building an island

Walls,
Can be climbed.
It’s a just a matter of time,
Before someone penetrates
Your holy gates,
And ravages and steals,
All the emotions that we feel,
Everything was real,
From the very start,
It was all from the heart.

Now I am pushing back the pieces left behind,
Digging through time,
So much to find,
I’d give it all away,
Just for one more day,
Perfectly surrounded by you.

Look up for the heaven,
(You always said you are never alone.)
I’m looking down at ashes,
(A fortress doesn’t make a happy home)

Please, don’t be so unkind,
I just need a little more time,
I am building an island.

Please, don’t be so unkind,
I just need a little more time,
I am building an island.

A facade,
Can be used,
Easy to cut through,
Down to the bone,
Lying on the keyboard or the phone,
Easier than face to face,
When everyone in this place,
Is looking at me and you.

I know it’s hard to be long distance,
There isn’t much interest,
In sad songs,
Maybe a lot when wrong,
And when the screen door shut that day,
Big yellow taxi took my baby away.

Look up for the heaven,
(You always said you are never alone.)
I’m looking down at ashes,
(A fortress doesn’t make a happy home)

Please, don’t be so unkind,
I just need a little more time,
I am building an island.

Please, don’t be so unkind,
I just need a little more time,
I am building an island.
