Are you trying to seduce me Mrs. Robinson?

I wasn’t looking from rhyme
Or reason,
I was looking for someone
To share a season,
A day, a week, a month, a year,
Someone to catch me when all of my fear,

Collapses like timbers,
And causes Septembers,
To leave me broken, bloody and beat,
It’s hard to understand,
But you holding my hand,
Takes away the pain of defeat.

It’s so understated,
My hell and your patience.
So I’ll say thank you,
Tears, and then let you go.

A Champagne  toast,
The woman in white,
Is now just a ghost.
Cheers to the bride and groom,
A life time of happiness,
Now get me out of this room.

It’s colder than I used to remember,
It’s hard to keep the fire going with such a small ember.
I’ve tried faith, love, charity, and devotion,
And all they did was short circuit every emotion,

I’ve ever had,

And seems past mistakes don’t go away,
You just push them a little further back day by day,
I couldn’t see it,
Or chose not to be it,
With a head so unclear,
I couldn’t hear,
When you said, “stay”.

It’s so understated,
My hell and your patience.
So I’ll say thank you,
Tears, and then let you go.

A Champagne  toast,
The woman in white,
Is now just a ghost.
Cheers to the bride and groom,
A life time of happiness,
Now get me out of this room.
